From the Bolinas studio of Marlie de Swart

Bo-Rage Yarns and Designs was conceived by Marlie de Swart some 20 years ago. All of the yarns she spins or has milled are blends of local fibers from the farms of Marin and Sonoma counties: wool, alpaca, angora, mohair.

Natural colored fleeces are often used and sometimes the yarns are hand dyed, usually while in roving which is then color carded and color plied.

Her knitwear is designed to reflect the core essence of Coastal Marin: slow fashion that offers ageless, classic and long-wearing garments.

And now Marlie's designs are available in her new book, Knitting Woolscapes, available online through this website (and other select online stores) as well as at Black Mountain Artisans, her store in Point Reyes Station, California.

The name Bo-Rage was inspired by the little blue Borage flower, which is abundant in the gardens of BOlinas, where Marlie's sometimes outRAGEous yarns and designs are created in her studio.
